Program to Consider

Martha Guy Summer Institute

This two-week summer institute at Appalachian State University for future business leaders has a history of “inspiring students through exploration of the business world.” The program website says students will:

  • Learn about basic business principles, entrepreneurship and major business subjects in the Discovery Series sessions taught by outstanding faculty
  • Participate in leadership development and team-building activities
  • Explore professional and career opportunities
  • Meet and interact with business leaders
  • Enjoy activities such as outdoor courses, cultural events and other social interactions
  • Gain insight into how business affects their lives and futures
  • Build executive skills through resume development, interview and etiquette workshops
  • Develop meaningful friendships with their leaders and fellow participants
  • Experience individual academic, personal and professional growth 

This program is open to current high school juniors who are interested in pursuing business as a college major. The total cost for two weeks of tuition, housing, and meals is just $1,350. But apply now! The application deadline is this Friday (2/28).
