The Cannon School College Counseling department is committed to providing the Upper School community with timely information and updates regarding the impact of Covid-19 in the realm of college admissions. Students and families should, however, be consistently checking emails, following Twitter and other social media sites, and confirming information on the official websites of ACT, College Board and individual colleges students are researching for their application process.
Standardized Testing Updates
ACT is now open for Registration for October test dates. The deadline for October test dates is September 25th. ACT has waived all late fees for September and October.

SAT test dates are scheduled for September 26th, October 3rd and November 7th. Registration is open. College Board has waived all late fees for these dates.

Additional Colleges Opt to go Test Optional for Class of 2021
Recently Announced:

Additional colleges continue to make temporary adjustments to their standardized testing requirements due to the impact Covid-19. The following colleges announced recently that they will offer a test optional process for at least one year:
Georgia Tech, UGA, GA Southern and the entire USG system
The University of Arizona for admission and merit aid
Other Updated Admission Policies:
NACAC’’s Statement “Test Optional Means Test Optional” including list of colleges who have signed the NACAC Statement
Three UC campuses – Berkeley, Irvine, and Santa Cruz – are piloting a test-blind policy for in-state applicants for the fall of 2021, two years ahead of the plan for all UC campuses to be test blind for applicants enrolling in the fall of 2023 and 2024.
